Are you ready to dance your way to death? Well, good news. Felix the Reaper, a game about a groovy grim reaper, will be launching on October 17th.
A puzzle game billed as a romantic comedy, Felix the Reaper is about a reaper who works for the Ministry of Death and needs to make sure that people die at the time they're supposed to the way they're supposed to. So you have to go about setting that up. However, as a grim reaper, Felix can't stand in the light, meaning you'll have to use various mechanics around the level and literally reposition the sun to make sure you always stay in the shadows. According to the behind the scenes trailer, the idea for Felix the Reaper came about thanks to a lot of old historical art. Much of it featured Death as this jolly dancing skeleton, and it amused the developers enough that they felt it would make for a great game. Thus the idea came about for Felix, a jolly grim reaper who has to set people's deaths up while dancing the night away in the hopes of meeting a maiden named Betty and asking her to dance with him. In addition to this, they show off some of the dancers that helped inspire Felix's moves, talked a bit about how they designed Felix to be someone that you could laugh with and the effort that went into designing each character's death.
Felix the Reaper will be launching on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 17th. The game will also be available on both the Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Game Pass for PC at launch.
