Koei Tecmo has given us a glimpse of some of the alternate costumes that will be available in Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. The upcoming remaster will include plenty of different looks for the game's characters, and a new costume showcase is showing off some of those looks.
Previous Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse trailers have revealed glimpses of the game's spooky story and ghost-infested levels, but this one's all about the different outfits your characters can wear throughout the course of the game. Some of those outfits come with the Digital Deluxe Edition, while others need to be unlocked in-game or obtained in other ways. Take a look at the costume showcase here.
In the first part of the trailer, we see several costumes that are available if you pick up the Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse Digital Deluxe Edition. These include Chinese Evening Dress and Nightwear outfits for both Ruka and Misaki, as well as the Japanese Swimsuit outfit for Ruka and the Dancer Swimsuit costume for Misaki. We also get a look at Choshiro's Rash Guard & Surf Shorts look, plus several hats including Cat Ears, the Organ Mask, and Choshiro's Detective Hat.
Following these, the showcase gives us a look at Ruka's Marie Rose outfit, which calls back to the iconic Dead or Alive fighting game series. That outfit is an Early Purchase Bonus, which you'll get if you buy the game leading up to its launch or in the two weeks immediately following release. If you pre-order Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, you'll get Fox Mask and Spirit Stone Flashlight hats for Ruka, Misaki, and Choshiro, and you'll need to buy the game before March 8th to get those.
If you've got Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water save data on your machine, you'll get access to the rather amusing Camera Obscura hat, which, as you can imagine, turns your characters' heads into giant cameras. The showcase closes by showing off a number of outfits that are available via in-game unlocks, so make sure to look out for the conditions when the game launches.
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse launches on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on March 9th.
