Giants Software has announced a brand new Farming Simulator 22 update. It's coming to PC and consoles "soon" and will add plenty of technical optimizations, gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes, and is also bringing a free content update with new vehicles to check out.

What's coming in the new Farming Simulator update?

After Farming Simulator 22 update 1.2 added new equipment and made some quality-of-life improvements in December last year, update 1.3 is aiming to do something similar soon. Developer Giants Software says it's "working hard" on optimizations and bug fixes for the game, including a pretty nasty bug that's causing crashes when loading certain saves or joining multiplayer sessions. This is mostly happening on last-gen hardware, so if you're playing on PS4 or Xbox One, you'll be happy to know Giants Software hears you.

The new Farming Simulator 22 update will add a liquid manure processor. Rumor has it you can slot a copy of Harvest Moon: One World into it and get some high-quality fertilizer.

A number of changes are also coming as part of the upcoming Farming Simulator 22 update. Price fluctuation displays now show minimum and maximum prices over the course of the year, and you'll get notified on the progress of contracts as well. There are also some improvements to vehicles; the CLAAS Lexion 8900 is getting a wheeled US config, while the Case IH Magnum 400 is getting PowerDrive transmission. In addition to these changes, you're also getting plenty of new content including a liquid manure processor, two harvesters, and a sprayer, plus lots more. Don't say Giants never spoils you, you lucky farmer.

When is this Farming Simulator 22 update launching?

Unfortunately, we don't yet have a release date for the new Farming Simulator 22 update. Giants says it's currently "finalizing" work on the patch, and that it will be released "shortly". It's likely the patch will go live in the next couple of weeks, at least; Giants says it's compiling the patch's changelog right now, which implies that the studio is pretty far along in the patch development process. Giants implores you to "stay tuned" for more info about it, so make sure to keep an eye on the game's Steam page and its socials over the next few days.

Farming Simulator 22 has proven pretty popular.

It's a good time to be a Farming Simulator fan. Last month, Giants confirmed that sales for the latest game in the franchise have surpassed 3 million units worldwide. It hit 1.5 million sales within its first week on sale, which is impressive enough, but doubling those numbers in subsequent months is pretty good too. Farming Simulator 22 is part of a sort of cozy farming revolution in gaming; titles like Stardew ValleySpiritfarer, and Hokko Life are giving gamers the chance to indulge in a little farming rather than constantly killing things or looting gear. You can check out Farming Simulator 22 on PC and consoles right now if you'd like to get in on the action.
