Far Cry 4 exists and it's coming November 18th!
After the success and critical acclaim of Far Cry 3, a follow up was hardly surprising. What was surprising was Ubisoft dropping this announcement in today's annual earnings report.
We know little so far, but what we do know sounds promising. It seems to be following in the foot steps of Far Cry 3, while factoring in a little of the fascinating DNA of its prequel. It looks like the tone of 3 is carrying over, but the story and setting definitely have flavours of Far Cry 2 (which sounds like a great combination).
Here's what Ubisoft have to say about it:
"In Far Cry 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape."

Part of me wishes this was kept for a big E3 reveal, but this indicates we are going to learn a lot more then!
