If you're looking for a reason to pick up Fallout 4 again, you just might get one next year with the announcement of Fallout London. It's a "DLC-sized mod" that takes place in a version of London that's about the size of the vanilla Fallout 4 Commonwealth. It takes place between Fallout 1 and 2 and approximately 50 years before Fallout 4, which should be interesting for those that have never picked up the original games.
What else can I expect from Fallout London?
As this mod is taking place in the UK, existing factions like the Brotherhood of Steel will not be present in Fallout London. Also due to its location, FEV has also not reached London so that means there are no Super Mutants, Centaurs, Deathclaws, and probably a lower amount of Psykers. As this is the UK and not America, it makes sense that fewer guns will be available, with the mod encouraging or even requiring the use of melee weapons in some situations.
To the disappointment of some, the game will not have a voiced protagonist due to the "lack of content available" that's useful, and the mod will also require a new game save. Fallout 4 and its DLC will be required to run the game, and there are no plans to release a 'lite' version as it would require a "major reworking of our mod." The mod is expected to release sometime in 2023, with exact date not available as it will be ready when it's ready.
