Tis The Season

The first content season for Fallout 76 will launch in just a few days. Bethesda is calling this first season "The Legendary Run", and it'll bring with it new consumables, extra cosmetics, and more.

Why is Fallout 76's first season called The Legendary Run?

The first content season for Fallout 76 has a strong board game theme to it. In the season's concept, you're playing as Captain Cosmos, and you'll be racing the evil Dr. Zorbo across the galaxy. Each step of progression you make throughout the season will advance you one space further on the board, with each space corresponding to an in-game Rank. There are 100 Ranks to achieve, each of which brings a new reward with it. You'll gain Ranks by completing Daily and Weekly Challenges, which have also been overhauled in Season One to make them easier to complete.

Bethesda is representing the new Fallout 76 content season as a board game.

Each Rank will grant you a new reward, and you'll get something special every 10 Ranks, as well as whenever Bethesda "[thinks] a number is fun, like Rank 76". These rewards could be in-game currency, cosmetic items, Perk Card packs, and lots of other goodies. As well as these rewards, you'll also gain the following rewards when you rank up:

  • Lunchboxes - 25% XP boost to you and all nearby players, plus a random social buff
  • Ammo Converter - a C.A.M.P feature unlocked at rank 5 that allows you to swap ammo types for ones you need
  • Vault-Tec Supply Packages - small bundles of crafting material
  • Fireworks - you can set these off anywhere in the world and it will create a light show

So when is Fallout 76's first season dropping?

You'll be able to check out the new Legendary Run game and Rank system when Fallout 76's first content season drops on June 30th. That's across all platforms, so it doesn't matter whether you're playing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC. If you want to check out the full list of stuff you can earn through playing Fallout 76 during its first Season, you can do so over at the official Fallout website.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
