Bethesda has furiously been working to fix up the bumpy, buggy release of Fallout 76.

The biggest piece of good news is the form of a massive, 47GB patch for PlayStation 4 owners, whom have suffered from perhaps the biggest bugs of all since the games release, including several screen issues plaguing the game on top of power armor bugs and in one instance, the Fallout 76 servers crashing when three nuclear bombs went off at the same time.

The 47GB patch is the largest patch for the game yet, but what is interesting is that the game itself is not adding on extra data, instead, it is replacing most of the game in a massive fix for the PlayStation 4. Per Eurogamer, Fallout 76  was 53.04 GB before the patch, and will only be 52.23 GB post-patch.

The patch notes for the game are extensive, attempting to address many of the complaints the game has at this time. Some major fixes including removing shadow outlines for picked up objects, fixing the Bureau of Tourism Questline, and adding additional stability improvements to the game to prevent further crashes and graphical hiccups.

Most of the major fixes to Fallout 76 with this patch pertained to the PvP mode. These include tweaks to the Pacifist Mode, where players with the mode enabled who engage in PvP by contesting a Workshop owned by another player will now deal full damage to that player as long as they remain hostile. Those who seek revenge also had some fixes, such as getting the proper reward amounts being displayed after killing them, and even fixing the respawn option for those who are killed in PvP combat.

Fallout 76 is Bethesda's first attempt at an online-only Fallout title and thus far has been met with lukewarm reception, largely due to the game's massive issues with bugs and server stability, but also receiving demerits for lacking NPCs.

Bethesda has noted that future updates to the game will not be as large in comparison to the giant patch, with plans to update the game on a regular basis for the foreseeable future.

What are your thoughts on all of this? Will this patch help with the massive bug problem Fallout 76 is suffering from? Leave your comments below.
