Xbox One players have been waiting for a while for the official mod support coming to Fallout 4. That wait is nearly over, says developer Bethesda Softworks.

This new info comes from Bethesda's official Twitter account, stating that the closed beta for Xbox mods is coming after the release of the Far Harbor DLC. That same tweet also mentions that the PC version of Fallout 4 got 1 million mod downloads since the Creation Kit modding tools went into open beta. This is hardly surprising since the PC platform has historically always been the home of modded content.

While the modding support is close at hand for Xbox One owners - with the closed beta expected to come between May 19 and May 31st -, players on the PlayStation 4 will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on fan-created content. Modding tools for Sony's platform won't be coming until at some point in June.

If you want to be part of the upcoming closed beta for the Xbox One mod program, you can go to Bethesda's official website. After you've signed in (or created an account), you can sign up to be a apart of the closed beta when that launches. If you're on PC and somehow missed the release of the beta Creation Kit for PC, you can go here to read how you can get it. Keep in mind that you'll be under an NDA if you participate in the beta, just like with the PC beta.

Fallout 4's Far Harbor DLC sends players to a remote island off the coast of Maine as they search for a young woman amidst an ever escalating conflict between the synths and the Children of the Atom and adds new quests, new gear and new dungeons to the game. This expansion will become available for purchase on May 19 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
