The Good Life, SWERY's latest project currently being funded via Kickstarter, has received a free demo.
The demo was released after a poll undertaken by SWERY via Twitter. In the poll, which was preceded by several hints and teases about the demo, he asks his followers if they'd like to play a demo of his upcoming "debt-repayment daily life RPG" "even if it has a lot of bugs". Over 3,500 votes were counted, with an overwhelming 90% of respondents answering "yes, please". As such, SWERY "prepared [the demo] in a hurry" to meet player expectations, leading to "a bunch of bugs present in the build".

Anyone interested in the demo for The Good Life can download it right now by following the instructions on this page. Clicking the link on SWERY's post leads to a Google Drive page which includes the executable file for the PC demo, as well as several necessary supplementary files and folders.
Some users of the demo are reporting issues with the game's camera, namely that it's "pointing towards the sky and continuously spinning". That said, only a couple of comments on the Kickstarter post report this problem, and it does only seem to occur when playing with a PS4 controller (it's unclear whether the commenters are using SCPToolkit or any kind of Xbox 360 emulation for this). In fairness to SWERY, too, the demo was released under the caveat of being buggy and unfinished, so this sort of thing is to be expected.
This demo comes as The Good Life reaches under 10 days left to go on Kickstarter. The project is currently at 54% funding with 8 days to go, so there's still plenty of time to back it if you're interested.
The Good Life is described by its creator, auteur game designer SWERY, as a "debt repayment daily life RPG". Players will take control of photographer Naomi as she works to repay a debt in a small English town, the inhabitants of which transform into dogs or cats at night. A murder occurs in the town, and Naomi must concurrently solve the murder while earning enough money via photography and odd jobs to pay off her debt.
