Escape from Tarkov's latest patch is coming today, finally opening up the long-awaited Streets area of the game...or part of it, at any rate. You can look forward to a new area to explore, new skills to learn, and new weapons with which to get to grips, as well as mechanical tweaks and plenty more.

Much like patch 0.12.12.30 before it, patch 0.13 is adding new elements to Escape from Tarkov's map, although this time it's a pretty sizable change. The Streets, which Battlestate has been teasing for some time, can now be explored, although not all of the new area is available yet.

Per Battlestate and the 0.13 patch notes, this update is adding "a part of the city of Tarkov, located at the intersection of Primorsky Avenue and Klimov Street". New places to explore include a hotel, a news agency building, an abandoned factory, and "other objects of urban infrastructure". More locations in the city will be added in future updates.

If you've been waiting for the Streets to open up in Escape from Tarkov, you won't be waiting much longer.

Of course, that's not all that's on offer in this new Escape from Tarkov update. New skills and weapons have been added to augment your combat experience as well, including the GP-25 grenade launcher, the SR-2M submachine gun, and the RSH-12 assault revolver. New Light Armor and Heavy Armor skills allow you to specialize in either armor type, and the Charisma skill has been reworked too; it now affects insurance prices, paid extracts, and more.

Repair kits have some fun new effects in this update as well. Weapons, body armor, and plate carriers can now get a standard or rare improvement when you repair them with a repair kit. Of course, there are caveats; you'll need to reach level 10 in a corresponding skill to enhance items, for instance. Be sure to read the patch notes to see exactly how the new repair kit mechanics work.

The new Escape from Tarkov patch adds new locations like a hotel, a news agency, and more.

If you prefer a friendlier, less intense Tarkov experience, you'll be pleased to know the co-op mode has had some changes too. New settings to remove energy and water drain have been added, as well as the chance to configure bots or remove them from your game entirely if you prefer. New stimulants have been added as well, and you'll also hear bosses like Killa and Knight show off some new voice lines.

We don't know for 100% sure when Escape from Tarkov patch 0.13 will finish updating, but it's releasing today. The patch should have been released already, but it looks like Battlestate needs a bit more time to work on it before it's ready for action, as they needed a couple more hours (at least) to finish the updating process. As ever, there will also be a wipe with this patch, so check all your affairs are in order before that happens. If you want to read the patch notes, you can do so on the official Battlestate forums.
