Escape from Tarkov is pretty hardcore as far as survival games go. Players enter into a lawless region to complete missions and collect loot, facing off against a mix of enemy players and NPCs using whatever guns they can get their hands on. The game has most recently added high-level quests and operational tasks to the game; now, a new patch is on the way with some fun new toys for the intrepid explorers out there.

To the casual viewer, the Escape from Tarkov 0.12.12 Patch shows a bunch of heavily-armed dudes running around an abandoned town with a lot of guns. However, the trained eyes of the Tarkov subreddit have picked out some interesting details in the trailer.
One of the obvious additions coming in Escape from Tarkov 0.12.12 is a rangefinder. This simple device uses a laser to let you know how far away a person or object is -- an invaluable tool for long-range shots. In a similar vein, it looks like several of the game's optics have gotten some improvements.
Speaking of guns, it looks like the HK417 / G28 might be making an appearance in this next update. There's some debate over the specifics of this gun, but it looks like it's going to be an interesting choice for your arsenal.
