Doors of Insanity, developed by OneShark and published by Another Indie offers a tongue-in-cheek card battle game where players take the role of souls trying to escape Purgatory. Judging by the trailer, this won't be an easy task and players will leave behind plenty of corpses.

The trailer for Doors of Insanity features a manly-sounding narrator describing how players will use their cards to fight the monstrosities of Purgatory and escape to the paradise they deserve. Unfortunately for the narrator, the hapless heroes winds up dying multiple times. It's pretty plain to see from the trailer that this game will be a highly-challenging card battler in the vein of Slay the Spire. Players will have to cast spells, call forth allies, and use a variety of items and equipment to progress through four major zones. Death will be inevitable, but players can carry over a single card to their next playthrough.

It's also pretty easy to see that humor is going to play a big part in there as well. For instance, one of the things the narrator says you can do is "Summon a 1940's boy band," and players will be able to use weapons like the not-so-mighty Dad's Hammer. In this game, no sword is too big, no armor is too thick, and no ally is too obnoxious.

Doors of Insanity has no release date yet, but will be releasing on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Whenever it releases, it'll first go into Early Access on Steam.
