Billbil-kun, a famous leaker on the French site Dealabs, has announced that Epic Games Store will be giving 14 free games away during the Christmas holidays, including a 15th over the course of a week. Billbil-kun has correctly leaked the PlayStation Plus lineups for September, October, November, and December 2021, along with December 2021's Xbox Live Games With Gold lineup. Basically, Billbil-kun has a convincing track record so far, but until it actually happens this is all hearsay so don't get too excited.
Still here? Apparently, the first game given away will apparently be Shenmue 3 on December 16 next Thursday. Even though we found it to be fairly disappointing, it's still a fairly big title and it's hard to argue with free. There were free games given away in 2020 and 2019's Christmas sales, so it's not like Epic Games have done this before.
After Shenmue 3 is taken off the deal on December 17th a new game will roll in. So be sure to set a reminder to yourself to check back and see what they're offering up. Billbil-kun didn't share any more information on what the games would be past Shenmue III but did reference the fact that the game that will be available on Christmas Day is, in their opinion, the best of the bunch. The last of the games will be available on December 30th, but that's already a pretty impressive number of games to have sitting under your holiday tree of choice.
At the moment this is all still a rumor but we'll find out for sure by next Thursday. Until then, stay tuned to TechRaptor for more details.
