Today Epic Games announced a new initiative to reward players who purchase PC games and services on the Epic Games Store.
According to the announcement, from today on, every purchase on the store on eligible products gives you back 5% of its value on rewards. You can then use your accrued rewards at checkout when you make a purchase to get a discount or keep it for a rainy day,
Eligible products include games, apps, add-ons, virtual currency (of course, Fortnite's V-Bucks are included), and subscriptions. Your reward total can be combined with other discounts or coupons, but they expire after 25 months, so you can't just accumulate them forever.Â
Everyone is automatically included in the Rewards program, so all you need to do is basically buying stuff. The only exception is for subscriptions. Accepting the latest Epic Games Store End User License Agreement is required to earn rewards on subscriptions and you can do so on the store itself under Account Settings > Subscriptions.
If you're unfamiliar with the Epic Games Store, it's a digital storefront for PC Games launched by Epic Games in 2018. Among its perks, its provides free games every month. In 2022, 700 million free copies of games have been claimed on the store according to the developer.Â
