Do you love Empire of Sin, but wish you could change just a little more about your criminal empire? Have no fear. Empire of Sin mod support is coming in the Precinct Update, which is scheduled for later this year.
How will Empire of Sin mod support work?
You'll be able to create mods for Empire of Sin using either the Paradox Mods feature or the Steam Workshop. Mods will be managed through the Paradox Launcher, so you can choose which ones to use. Romero Games and Paradox say they'll be rolling out "phase 1" of the game's modding tools in the Precinct Update, with more to follow in subsequent updates. It's not clear exactly what features are coming in phase 1 just yet.

As well as mod support, the Precinct feature is also bringing lots of other new stuff with it. The titular Precincts will add a new management system, allowing you to designate areas of your empire and manage them more effectively. You'll also find new win conditions; will you aim to become the mogul of Chicago or engage in diplomacy with your fellow gangster overlords? The Precinct update is also bringing new racket interiors, extra balance changes, and additional bug fixes, plus more. You'll be able to get your hands on it later this year, although we don't have a specific window for it just yet.
You can grab Empire of Sin right now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The PS4 and Xbox One versions are also playable on next-gen consoles through backwards compatibility. If you're playing Empire of Sin, you should update your game to grab the new Gangster Update, which adds a bunch of quality-of-life improvements like diplomacy, auto-resolving combat, an updated weapon proficiency model, and more. We'll let you know as soon as we get more news about Empire of Sin mod support and the Precinct Update.
