Canadian based developer Creative Bytes Studios has announced release dates for their upcoming fantasy adventure-platformer Embers of Mirrim. The game will be released on on May 23rd for PS4 and PC via Steam and on May 24th for Xbox One.

The game stars Mirrim, a mystical creature that is able to split at will into both the light and dark halves of itself called “Embers,” which are able to be independently controlled by the left and right controller sticks for a unique gameplay experience. Mirrim’s quest is to save the world from corruption with its powers and unify friendly forces in order to save the planet. The game boasts diverse environments in a fantasy world, from thawing mountains, to forests, to decrepit wastelands, each with their own secrets for the player to discover as they navigate the challenges of Mirrim’s mission. From screenshots provided on the game's website, the world looks gorgeous and well thought-out, with its own unique flora and fauna.

In addition to announcing the game's release date, Creative Bytes also gave fans a sneak peek of some more gameplay with yet another trailer giving a greater glimpse into Mirrim's world and the challenges that those who have iffy coordination will face trying to control two beings at once, particularly while outrunning avalanches. This new Exploration Gameplay trailer is a nice companion to their Action Gameplay trailer, previously released in February of this year, and gives viewers a better idea of what to expect in terms of gameplay and the structure of Mirrim's planet.

Embers of Mirrim will be their first foray into fantasy adventure-platforming.
