The cancellation of GDC 2020 had a lot of ripple effects on the gaming industry. Some of these were more devastating for others, especially indie developers — and Elevate 2020 is here to save the day.

After the successes of the GDC Relief Fund, it seems that there was a lot more financial support from generous contributors than needed. The excess funds have all been rolled into a new program which is aiming to help developers get back on track.

Elevate 2020 is a new program that will be run by Code Coven (working with industry partners and experts on various game development subjects). The course will last for 15 weeks and offer a number of benefits to participants, including:

  • Development guidance
  • Mentorship
  • Community
  • Events programming
  • Milestone-based stipends
