DreadXP has pushed back the launch of its Eldritch dating sim Sucker for Love: First Date to early 2022, but you'll be able to get an early look at the game when Sucker for Love: Prelude launches next week.
There is no shortage of strange Lovecraftian-themed games, whether you want to explore the creepy sex cults of Lust for Darkness or help Cthulhu save Christmas. There are, however, very few games (if any) that actually let you date one of these eldritch horrors -- that is, until now.
Sucker for Love: First Date Lets You Smooch the Cutest Cosmic Horrors
Sucker for Love: First Date is an expanded take on a game that originally debuted as part of the Dread X Collection II, a horror game anthology that brings together a dozen games that were created over the course of ten days.
In Sucker for Love, you have finally gotten your hands on a bright pink Necronomicon. It allows you to summon Ln'eta, a Cthulhu-like girl that agrees to give you a kiss as long as you perform some of the other rituals in the book -- rituals that you suddenly find yourself able to understand somehow.
The game will feature three fully-voiced datable (and adorable) cosmic monstrosities and three chapters of content. It also promises "no horror elements or danger whatsoever," but I'm not so sure I'd believe that on account of the whole "terrifying eldritch god" theme it has going on.
When is the Sucker for Love: First Date Release Date?
The Sucker for Love: First Date release date will be January 13, 2022. A price has not yet been announced. The game originally planned to launch this month, but its developer Akabaka ended up having to push it back.
On the upside, you won't have to wait that long to get your first taste of the game -- Sucker for Love: Prelude will debut on Steam on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, allowing you to experience the content that was originally released as part of the Dread XP Collection II.
