Bethesda Softworks has revealed The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition price along with the surprising release of four pieces of free content for existing Skyrim Special Edition owners.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition was revealed earlier this year as the latest of the many, many versions of Skyrim you can buy. Unfortunately, the announcement was a bit light on practical details. That's all changed today with a new announcement revealing the game's price -- and a free batch of content is coming for current Skyrim Special Edition owners.

Free Skyrim Upgrade Coming for Special Edition Owners

Let's get started with the good news -- late last month, Bethesda Softworks announced that all Skyrim Special Edition owners will be getting four free pieces of Creation Club content regardless of whether or not they buy The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition.

The first of these four pieces is the new fishing mode that was previously revealed when the Anniversary Edition was announced. Arriving alongside this piece of content is Survival Mode, a challenging new way to explore the frosty north. You'll also be able to make some cool new items thanks to the Rare Curios content pack which adds new items to Khajit Caravans.

Mind, the free upgrade is adding more than just side content. The Saints & Seducers content pack will add two new quests, several side quests, armor sets, weapons, enemies, and more. This new content will be granted to current Skyrim Special Edition owners when the Anniversary Edition launches later this month.

Although all current owners are getting the preceding batch of content for free, there's a lot more that's packed into The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Unfortunately, you're going to have to buy it if you want to grab all of these cool new goodies.
