Listen up, whippersnappers. For those of you who are too young to have lived through the 90s, let me tell you the tale of the Tamagotchi. In the days before smartphones, people got bored when they were out and about. And so, a magnificent Japanese company decided to take advantage of this and made small egg-like games that you could fit in your pocket and take with you, so you were constantly at the whim of a small, digital animal that needed food, playtime, and naps. It was glorious. And what better pocket pet than a pocket monster?

And now, Bandai has decided to bring the magic of the world of Pokemon to Tamagotchi with the released of a new Eevee Tamagotchi. A handful of details have been released about the upcoming product, including the fact that players will be able to evolve Eevee into its varying forms, either Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Umbreon, Espeon or Sylveon. There is, additionally, a Ditto version of Eevee available as well as one decked out in a Team Rocket uniform and it will be on the Tamagotchi Nano system.

First comes the egg, then comes the Eevee, then comes a million other forms of Eevee. Also apparently some question marks in boxes. Mysterious...

There will be two different versions released, one standard one in Eevee brown and a “Colorful Friends” version in pink with the different eeveelutions decorating around the outside of it. Both versions are scheduled to be released in Japan on January 26th and will retail for 2,300 yen each.

One would think a Pokeball wouldn't be necessary since the Eevee is already trapped inside the Tamagotchi.

Do you want to raise your own tiny Eevee in your pocket? Would you want this product to get an American release? Which Eeveelution would you want to carry around with you as your own tiny, digital friend? Let us know in the comments below!
