Electronic Arts has revealed the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming title PGA Sports Tour, showcasing new changes to the trajectory system, 30 new courses to enjoy, and more customization options than ever before.
I will never forget sitting on the floor of my living room while playing the original PGA Tour and screaming as I whiff a ball into the middle of the tree line, and I am sure other franchise fans won't forget those days either. Today, we got a first look at what's to come with the latest addition to the PGA series, and it has taken on a whole new level of innovation. The game takes on the three core parts of any real-life golf shot; Fluid Swing Mechanics, Innovative Ball Behavior, and lifelike course dynamics.
To put things simply, it is as close to the real thing as you can get without ever leaving your house. We know that no two golf swings are ever exactly the same, and they do mention that in the trailer, but it is so cool to see how they captured these swings and movements in real-time and melded them into the game itself. There are so many factors they took into consideration, from using actual PGA golfers to mimic their own swings in-game, as well as having the most expansive roster in the series.
The Career Mode available in PGA Sports Tour is usually the key focus for most players, and this time around we see more of an RPG-like progression system than in the previous titles. Players will be able to move forward in their careers by improving their golf game overall and facing other pros head-to-head. With over 20 different shot types, it is easy to customize your style; whether you want to focus on your short game, driving, or putting, the game has plenty of customization options to perfect your swing.
PGA Sports Tour is set to release in early access on March 21, 2023, but will launch officially worldwide on March 24, 2023.
