It seems that EA servers are having some problems, causing a lot of trouble for FIFA 20 players and in other games under the publisher's banner.

At some unknown point earlier today, Electronic Arts' server infrastructure went a little sideways. Brief maintenance was being performed for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Sometime after that, players began reporting problems playing some games, most notably FIFA 20 and the mobile FIFA game.

"We're aware that some players are unable to login and our engineering team is investigating," read a tweet from the FIFA mobile Twitter account. "Will update as we have more info."

This announcement was later repeated and expanded upon by the FIFA 20 team, noting that they are disabling the ability to create matches while they try to resolve the problem.

"We are aware of the complaints around connecting to EA servers and are actively investigating," read the tweet from the FIFA 20 team. "Match creation has been temporarily disabled to prevent disconnects during this time."

The problem is showcased in a submission on the /r/FIFA20 subreddit, highlighting an error message that they're receiving when they try to connect to the game:

When Will the EA Servers Be Back?

Unfortunately, EA has not yet provided a timeline as to when their servers will be back online. They've stated that they're investigating the issue and will resolve things as soon as possible.

For now, your best bet at getting the latest info on server status is to keep an eye on the @EAHelp Twitter account. This problem has cropped up in the middle of the day, so one hopes that it won't be too long before they're able to fix this problem.

Are you having problems connecting to EA's servers? When do you think this problem will be fixed? Let us know in the comments below!
