As announced by DICE at EA Play 2019, Battlefield V is getting a massive rank cap increase, as well as private games and servers. First, in response to fan feedback, DICE is boosting the current rank cap from 50 to 500 via a new system called "Promotions." Further details are available via the Battlefield forums, which go in-depth on how the new system will progress. In essence, every 50 ranks past the current cap will earn you a new in-game dog tag, as well as a rank icon on the scoreboard.

The experience curve will also reset slightly past every milestone, making early ranks easier to achieve, before peaking before yet another milestone. Current experience requirements aren't available. Finally, ranking up all the way to 500 will earn you roughly two million "Company Coin," which is Battlefield V's in-game currency. This can be used to buy weapon and vehicle skins, as well as a few cosmetics for your soldiers. The rank increase is slated to come sometime in August, midway through the next season of Battlefield V's live content.

Also new at EA Play was the announcement of private games coming to Battlefield V. In previous Battlefield games private and third-party servers were available via the "Rental Server Program," though the system did not appear in Battlefield V. Again, more details were made available over on the forums, which reveals that the base level of the Private Games, as RSP is now known as, is free. In Private Games, players will be able to control weapon and vehicle availability, as well as modify bullet damage and ticket rates. Presumably, making server mods or setting up reserved slots will be only available to those who pay for the server program. There's no word yet on pricing, but the first phase of Private Games is set to roll out this September.
