EA has announced that several Warner Bros. Interactive Studios games are available to download now as part of its PC subscription-based Origin Access service.
This deal marks the first time that any publisher besides EA themselves has made its titles available via Origin Access. Games currently available include three of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham titles (Asylum, City, and Origins), as well as the three Lego Batman games.
That's not all, though. Warner Bros. has several titles lined up as future Origin Access Vault releases. These include acclaimed indie puzzler The Witness, Kickstarted CRPG Wasteland 2, beat-'em-up roguelike hybrid Lost Castle, Bulletstorm Lite (a version of Bulletstorm without the multiplayer element) and a new baseball title in Out of the Park Baseball 19. It's not yet clear whether further titles will be added beyond these, nor has EA clarified whether other developers' games will eventually be offered via Origin Access. There's also no word yet on whether this deal will extend to the Xbox One's EA Access service.
Origin Access is a subscription-based service which requires players to download EA's digital distribution platform Origin. Those who do can pay a monthly $4.99 subscription fee for Origin Access, or pay $30 for a whole year. Titles available via Origin Access range from the Mass Effect series, the Dragon Age games and Titanfall 1 & 2 to retro classics such as Dungeon Keeper, Sim City 2000 and the Wing Commander series.
A free 7-day trial is currently being offered on the Origin Access website, during which the full Origin Vault will be available for players to download and play. Once the Access subscription ends, the Vault games can no longer be played unless the player buys them or restarts their subscription.
