Sega has announced that a new Yakuza game will be coming exclusively to the PS4.

Titled Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, will be set in Kamurocho, the infamous red-light district in Tokyo, and the sleepy port town of Onomichi. Protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, known as "The Dragon of Dojima" will be dealing with personal issues that threaten his family. Kiryu's surrogate daughter, Haruka, has been targeted for attacks, and to make matters worse, Haruka has an infant son he must look after as well.  Now Kiryu must protect his family from harm, one beatdown at a time.

Yakuza 6 will be rendered in an all new engine called the "Dragon Engine," which will bring the world of Yakuza to life with "unparalleled realism."  No release date was revealed for Yakuza 6, but the game is expected to be released sometime next year.

In addition to Yakuza 6, Sega also discussed the upcoming Yakuza remake, Yakuza Kiwami.  Kiwami is based on the original title released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2005.  "Kiwami" translates to "Extreme," according to Sega PR associate Will Chan, and most of the changes in Yakuza Kiwami will help the game become the "definitive standard of what a remake should be." In addition to a graphical upgrade,  Kiwami is also adding nearly 30 minutes of addition cutscenes to the game, all of which center around the game's plot as well as creating links with the series prequel, Yakuza 0.

Other new features include added side quests, fully re-recorded Japanese dialogue, combat updates, and distractions such as Pocket Circuit car racing and MesuKing: Battle Bug Beauties. There is also a new feature called "Majima Everywhere", where series regular Goro Majima, the eye-patch wearing lunatic literally shows up out of nowhere to challenge Kiryu in combat.
