Dragon Quest Builders

The Dragon Quest series has been seeing its fair share of spin-off games recently, and now another one will be coming soon. Dragon Quest Builders is a Minecraft-styled building game coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, and it's coming October 11th.

Dragon Quest Builders sees the world of Alefgard get ruined and destroyed after the hero destined to save the world from the Dragonlord fails to do so. So a new hero is chosen, one who has to both defeat the Dragonlord, and rebuild Alefgard to its former glory. That's where you come in.

While Dragon Quest Builders is a crafting game, it's also an RPG, seeking to blend the two genres together. You'll wander around the world finding materials to build, gathering them, and using them to build structures and towns, but you'll also be taking quests and following a storyline as you do so. Dragon Quest Builders promises to have an easy to learn control scheme, a family friendly experience, and the ability to battle your favorite monsters from the Dragon Quest series.

The game has been out in Japan since January. It launched to the top of the sales charts, with the PlayStation Vita version notably preforming better than the others. The game is also available on the PlayStation 3 in Japan but, similar to Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below, that version will not be coming to America.

Dragon Quest Builders will be available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita October 11th in the United States and October 14th in Europe. It will cost $59.99.
