Deck 13 had a small showing at E3 this year, and one of the games they brought with them was The Other 99. While there they gave the news of when you can first get your hands on the game: July 11th.
The Other 99 is a first person survival game developed by new developers Burning Arrow. It was announced in April, though not much was revealed about it then. Some new details on the game show that you are trapped on an island. The Other 99 has a focus on "dramatic and brutal combat", and is being compared to a digital Lord of the Flies. The game promises to feature dynamic AI that will change if it'll hunt you down or assist you with every playthrough. The Other 99 also promises that the environment will change dynamically with each time through it, promising a different experience every time. While the game is in Early Access they plan to keep updating it with new features as development continues. The developers promise that the Early Access version of the game will have all the features of the full game, just on a smaller scale. When the game launches it will have a larger play area, new characters, new story, and a crafting system.
The developers behind the game, Burning Arrow, is based in Cornwall, England. They formed in 2014 and The Other 99 is their first major project. Publisher Deck 13 is also a developer and has been behind titles like Lords of the Fallen, Venetica, and the Ankh series. They are currently working on sci-fi Souls-like game The Surge, a title they showed off during the PC gaming show.
The Other 99 releases into Early Access on July 11th. Currently, it does not have a release date or any release platforms besides PC, and the Steam page's Early Access info box says it will not be leaving Early Access until "it reaches its full potential".
