Kings Quest A Knight To Remember

Developer The Odd Gentlemen has given out some major details regarding the revival of the classic adventure series, King's Quest.

King's Quest: A Knight to Remember, the first of five chapters in this episodic adventure will be released this July, and will be available as a digital download for the PC, Xbox One, PS4, the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The story of A Knight to Remember will follow and elderly King Graham as he reminisces about his youth, retelling his young granddaughter Gwendolyn about his first major adventure in the world of Daventry. Players will be able to control a young Graham as he meets other knights, dragons and other obstacles on his quest to become a knight.

Unlike the original King's Quest titles, A Knight to Remember has been touted as a fully open world map, where players can solve puzzles in any order they wish. This would in turn influence both the in-game score, and the overall storyline of the episodes.

Along with the announcement, The Odd Gentlemen has also released a new trailer for A Knight to Remember at E3, showcasing some of the games story, it's visuals, and voice acting, including the talents of Christopher Lloyd, Tom Kenny, and Maggie Elisabeth Jones.

The King's Quest series was Sierra Entertainments flagship franchise. Developed by the team of Roberta and Ken Williams, many elements found in the original King's Quest games would become the gold standard for PC adventure titles, including point and click interfaces, score tracking, and horizontal puzzle solving.

The last King's Quest game released was back in 1998. Titled King's Quest VIII: Mask of Eternity, the game received mixed reviews, angering some fans of the series for incorporating RPG elements and combat.

Sierra, the publisher of the original King's Quest titles, closed back in 2008 after being purchased by Activision. The publisher has since been revitalized by Activision-Blizzard; first revealed in August of 2014.  A Knight to Remember will be the second official game published under the new Sierra label. Their first published game, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions, was released last November for several platforms.
