Dying Light 2 Update 1.0.6 has fixed some of the more annoying post-launch issues and Techland has announced that the game had 3 million people play it in its first weekend.

It's been about a week since the launch of Dying Light 2. Although the reveal of Denuvo DRM at the eleventh hour angered some players, it still managed to have three times the playercount on launch compared to the previous game. The launch also had a number of technical issues -- and Techland has just released a patch squashing some of the more bothersome bugbears.

What's New in Dying Light 2 Update 1.0.6?

Dying Light 2 Update 1.0.6 largely focuses on fixing technical issues with the game. While it's nice to hear that a bunch of bugs have been fixed, Techland cautions that some problems still remain.

To start, Techland added a button on the death screen to allow a player to respawn within a mission area. it has also fixed an issue with deathloops after a co-op session, although the devs caution that some "edge cases" surrounding this issue are still under investigation and may need to be fixed in a future update.

Some new options have been added to the game. Graphics aficionados will be happy to hear that settings for motion blur and distance blur are now in the game. Additionally, players can now switch between the localized in-game voiceover and English. A number of other small fixes have arrived in this update; you can read the full Dying Light 2 Update 1.0.6 patch notes for all the full details.

Dying Light 2 Sales Exceed 3 Million on Launch Weekend

Aside from this morning's Dying Light 2 update, Techland also has some good news about the sales of its latest game: it looks like Dying Light 2 sales have exceeded 3 million units.

"Thank you to the 3 million unique players who experienced Dying Light 2 Stay Human during the first weekend of the game launch," read a tweet from the game's official account.

While no game launch is perfect, it looks like Techland is making a serious effort to shore up as many problems as it can in the post-launch period. You can join in on the fun by buying Dying Light 2 on PC and consoles (sans Nintendo Switch) for $59.99 or your regional equivalent. There's a lot to look forward to in the coming months and years, so you may as well get started now!
