Dying Light 2 co-op will allow you to play through the game's entire story with four players -- and this multiplayer feature will be available on the game's February 4, 2022 launch.
We're less than a month away from the launch of Dying Light 2 after the game was delayed several times, most recently in September 2021. Since then, we've gotten to see new gameplay and a breakdown of the skill tree. Now, the final episode of the Dying 2 Know video series has arrived -- and it's revealed that the entire game will be playable in 4-player co-op.
How Dying Light 2 Co-Op Works
Dying Light 2 co-op sounds pretty great for fans of open-world games. Not only will you be able to play it together with your friends -- it also sounds like a fairly flexible system.
"There's also the element of choice and consequence," presenter and streamer Leah "leahviathan" Alexandra explained in the final episode of Dying 2 Know. "Because, what would Dying Light 2 be without choice and consequence, right? So, you know, if we come to a narrative fork in the road and there's a choice to be made that's gonna change the outcome of the story, everyone gets to vote on it. Everybody in the game. And the host gets the final say in where you end up."
As with most co-op experiences, one of the four players will be the "host" and the other players will join them as guests. If the host ends the game, the guests will keep their items and player progression. The guests' story progression, however, will not be saved.
Techland has also revealed some pre-order bonuses for the game:
Lawan's cosmetics were designed in collaboration with her actress Rosario Dawson. It should be noted that Lawan is not a playable character. However, Aiden is a playable character, and the pre-order bonuses will net him some cool cosmetics, too. These pre-order bonuses are being added to all previous and all future pre-orders for the game.
Additionally, the TechlandGG meta site that tracks in-game progress has added 50 new quests, an overhauled player profile, and more. If you haven't looked at it in a while, it's worth checking out!
Today's video also shows off some gameplay trailers, an update on the UGC contest, and commentary from the developers -- make sure to watch it to get a new perspective on The City. You can pre-purchase Dying Light 2: Stay Human for PC and consoles starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent via its official website. You'll be able to play the game when it launches on February 4, 2022.
