Making Your Dreams Come True
Aspiring game devs rejoice: the Dreams VR release date has been announced for the upcoming expansion/update. Best of all, this new piece of free content titled Inside the Box isn't too far away — it's going to be making its debut next month.
If you haven't heard of Dreams, you can get an idea of the things you can create by checking out the Dreams Release Date Trailer:
It's a pretty cool idea. Media Molecule has essentially created a very intuitive game development tool that can be used to create games, share them, and play them. People have been tinkering with it for the last few months and now something new is on the way: Dreams is finally adding support for PSVR with the Inside The Box expansion.
Aside from enabling PSVR support, this Dreams VR expansion is going to include a number of new Hot Two tutorials to help creators understand the new gadgets being introduced in this update and the best practices for using them. As always, the devs at Media Molecule have also created some example games to help players get started.
Dreams isn't just a way to play games, mind — it can be used to create them, and you will also be able to make games in VR. If you happen to have some PlayStation Move controllers, you'll be able to bring your designs to live in a new way. Future content created with this expansion can be tagged as VR or non-VR content to ensure that players have the right equipment to enjoy it.
When is the Dreams VR Release Date?
Adding virtual reality to Dreams seems like a natural move. When will you be able to play it?
There's nothing but good news here: the Dreams VR release date is July 22, 2020, as noted in the PlayStation Blog post announcing the new content. This won't be a paid expansion, either — all of this cool new content is being added to Dreams for free!
If you haven't already bought Dreams, you can pick up a physical copy on sale at Amazon for $29.99 or your regional equivalent, a 25% discount.
