Media Molecule's next game, Dreams, wrapped up its first beta testing period at the beginning of February, but players won't have to wait long to jump back in. In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Studio Director Siobhan Reddy announced Dreams would hit Early Access sometime in the spring.

Officially called the "Creator Early Access," this version of Dreams won't be complete. However, it will provide players the same tools that the developers use to make levels. Early adopters can make stages and play other people's creations. Unlike the beta, there won't be a non-disclosure agreement to sign. In other words, you can share your creations on social media and show off the game on YouTube or Twitch.

For those who participated in the beta, the assets you published (privately or publicly) back then will return in Early Access. Additionally, the game will come with tutorials that teach players the intricacies of the different systems in Dreams. Throughout the Early Access period, Media Molecule plans to share its own arcade games and assets that were developed in house. Others can play or edit these creations. However, the developers don't plan on releasing any full-blown levels before the final release, meaning if you aren't interested in making things or trying community levels this may be something to skip.

As we've seen before, Dreams boasts a powerful creation engine that goes beyond what LittleBigPlanet accomplished previously. For example, a beta player (who broke NDA) shared a video on Twitter that showed off parts of Konami's PT recreated in the PS4 exclusive. Since then, the video has been taken down.

When Dreams launches in Early Access, however, expect to see more crazy creations surface online. With a spring launch window, the wait won't be too long. Early Access will retail for $29.99 in the U.S. and $39.99 in Canada. Excited dreamers can sign up to be notified here.

Outside of North America, Early Access will be available to the U.K., Australia, Austria, Benelux, New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Spain, costing €29.99. The signup for those countries can be found here.

Media Molecule gave no word on when to expect a final release.

When I'm not talking about my love of Persona, I'm probably playing or writing about games. I listen to an unhealthy amount of game soundtracks. Catch me on Everything in Poderation, the Internet Culture Podcast that dives into the intersection between the internet and nerd culture.
