DreamHack Montreal 2017 has concluded, and is part of the Capcom Pro Tour's set of North American regional events. Of course, like with other DreamHacks, it's also home to some major Smash tournaments. Many big names from the two scenes will be coming from every corner of Canada and the United States to earn big money ($10,000 prize pool for each of the three games) and, in Street Fighter V's case, CPT points necessary to get into Capcom Cup, which is closing in fast.
Streaming was handled by DreamHack Fighters and DreamHack Smash on Twitch. As usual, players will be listed in “[sponsor/team name] | [player name] [[characters used]]” format. Links to Smash.gg brackets will be provided at the end of each top 8 list.

NuckleDu continues to be a force to be reckoned with, dominating his opposition handily throughout the tournament. After winning, he even graciously decided to donate his cash winnings to Hurricane Irma relief. As a Florida resident, no doubt it's something that's important to him. Immediately behind are the two usual suspects on might expect in top 8 for a North American event, Justin Wong and K-Brad, and immediately behind them is Nemo, who has been dedicating time to playing abroad since beginning his sabbatical to concentrate on competing.
