Dragon-Quest-HeroesDragon Quest lovers rejoice, because as of February 25th, 2015, Playstation Blog has officially made the announcement that they are going to release the newly released (in Japan) title Dragon Quest Heroes exclusively for the PS4 for North American audiences in later 2015. This is slightly different than for the Japanese release, which is available for both the Playstation 3 as well as the Playstation 4.  The release will be available both as a boxed copy, as well as a digital download.

This will be the first time that Dragon Quest will make a full action RPG that plays similar to games like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry, and will not be runnin on the typical turn-based battle system. It allows you to switch between characters mid-battle similar to a Tales Of game or Final Fantasy XII, allowing you to be in full control of a character that causes the most damage or use a useful skill whenever needed. There are hundreds of people on Amazon Japan rating the game on average 4 stars, which shows that the game has a pretty good reception just one day after launch.

Square Enix describes the game as:

"In Dragon Quest Heroes, the protagonists must rise up against insurmountable odds, challenging swarms of enemies and conquering gigantic monsters in an exhilarating action game. Filled with characters and monsters designed by world-renowned artist Akira Toriyama, Dragon Quest Heroes is brought to PS4 in beautiful HD. Both Yuji Horii, the general director and creator of Dragon Quest, and Koichi Sugiyama, the composer closely tied to the series since its first installment, are closely involved in bringing this title to life."
They claim that more details will be available in the coming months about the North American release. As of yet there is no official release date, but you are able to preorder a copy of the game for 59.99 from the Square Enix online store if you are interested.

What do you think of the new Dragon Quest release? Are you looking forward to some wonderful hack and slash action like in games such as Devil May Cry? Or do you rather prefer the older turn-based style that the deries is known for?
