Dragon Quest Dai A Hero's Bonds Ends Service

Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds will be ending its service on April 24, 2023, at 8 PM PDT.

Square took to Twitter to announce that indeed, their mobile title will be ending its service in just a few short months. The game initially launched in late 2021 for IOS and Android. There really is no context as to why this discontinuation is coming, though the devs do say it is mostly due to "challenges and practicalities" that come with delivering the most varied and satisfying gameplay possible. The team does not believe at this time they will be able to continue to deliver what they have previously for the game, and things must just end where they are.

There is a roadmap available that shows players how this will all go down, and it showcases a few updates that will come prior to the end of the service. The first, which starts today, is Red Gems and Item Packs no longer being available for purchase. Those who already stockpiled the currency will be able to spend it until the service comes to an end. Next in line will be the end of auto-renewal for Gold Pass users. The final chapters of Dragon Tracks and the Bonding Journey will be added prior to discontinuation, but there is no set date for those releases as of yet.

Though the service will be coming to an end fairly quickly, Square does make sure to thank those who have taken the time to play and enjoy their game for the time it was available and ensures players that the final updates will be jam-packed with content for players to enjoy one last time.
