Cell Max in the new Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 update

Bandai Namco has revealed that the next major free Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 update is due to arrive on Thursday. It'll bring a new raid boss in the form of the terrifyingly gargantuan Cell Max, as well as new costumes, accessories, and Super Souls, plus lots more.

The update, which was detailed in a new launch trailer, shows characters battling the massive Cell Max, who will appear as part of the new raid quests being added. It'll take all of your power to bring him down, but you'll have help in doing so thanks to the new Beast Awoken Skill, which should up your combat capabilities significantly.

As well as this, you're also getting a new costume in the form of the Cell Max Suit, which will serve as a grave reminder of how tough your battle against this monster was. New CC Mascots have also been added, with seven variants available, and there are 51 new loading screen illustrations, too. Add to this 5 Super Souls and you're looking at a pretty substantial free update.

That's not all, though. A brief snippet at the end of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 update trailer also revealed another DLC character coming as part of the upcoming Hero of Justice Pack 2 DLC: Piccolo (Power Awakening) will join Orange Piccolo in the DLC, which is coming "soon", according to Bandai Namco. Let's hope we get a release date for that sooner rather than later.

There's still one character to be revealed as part of Hero of Justice Pack 2, so make sure you stay tuned to TechRaptor to find out who that is. In the meantime, you can play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 right now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and it's also playable on current-gen consoles via backwards compatibility. The aforementioned free update launches on March 23rd.
