Dragon Ball Card Warriors will be arriving as a part of the next piece of Dargon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC alongside Golden Frieza and the Ginyu Force.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a game where players get to relive the journey of Goku, the mightiest Super Saiyan in the universe. It features quite a few fan-favorite characters as players journey throughout the world of Dragon Ball, and two new additions are coming in the next DLC: Golden Frieza and the Ginyu Force.
The addition of Golden Frieza had been rumored for some time, owing in part to advance media published in a recent issue of V Jump in Japan as reported by Game Informer. However, one surprising fact managed to stay under wraps until a livestream earlier today: Dragon Ball Card Warriors is also coming to the game.
What is Dragon Ball Card Warriors?
Dragon Ball Card Warriors is exactly what it says on the tin: a card battle game featuring characters from the Dragon Ball universe. There have been quite a few games like this released over the years, but this one is a little different: it's being given away to current owners for free.
As Japanese gaming site 4Gamer reports, this new game will be added as a free update to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot; that means that you won't need the Season Pass to play it. Players will be able to collect cards and battle it out with their friends online, although console gamers will require a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership depending on their platform.
It should be noted that Dragon Ball Card Warriors has only been reported on in Japanese media and has not yet been officially announced for the West. While the next premium DLC is on the way and will definitely feature Golden Frieza and the Ginyu Force (among others), it's possible that the card game might not make its debut here.
Either way, we're likely to hear an official Western announcement about this DLC in the near future. You can look forward to the next great adventure in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to arrive sometime in the fall of 2020.
