Minecraft: Story Mode support will be ending later in June 2019. The ability to purchase this game has already been disabled on Steam and it will be all but impossible to get your hands on this adventure game in the very near future.

For those of you who may be out of the loop, Telltale Games has been in a spot of trouble. Several titles from the company began disappearing from digital retailers in November 2018. The company's closure was announced a day later, sealing the fate of the various adventure games put out over the years. Minecraft: Story Mode will now be joining these titles: support will officially be ending on June 25, 2019.

An official statement has been released on the Minecraft website regarding Minecraft: Story Mode support ending:

“On behalf of the publisher, Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series, Season 1 and 2 will no longer be supported on June 25th, 2019. If you have purchased these seasons, please download all remaining episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June."
The post goes on to recommend that players ensure that they have all episodes downloaded lest they run the risk of potentially losing access to them forever. It's not made explicitly clear by this post, but there's one bit that should be highlighted:
So if you own either season of Minecraft: Story Mode on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, or iOS, you have until June 25th, 2019 to download the episodes. We’d recommend checking you have all the episodes downloaded!
This can be taken to mean that they are going to be removing the server-side repositories on June 25, 2019. If that's the case, that would mean that you would be unable to download copies of the game that you've purchased after that date. It is especially dangerous for Minecraft: Story Mode season 2, as while the first season's retail release included all the episodes, Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2's retail release only had the first episode.

The conclusion of Minecraft: Story Mode support comes at a rather unfortunate time for fans of the franchise. Minecraft has recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, a celebration that included the launch of a massive Theme Park map and the announcement of an augmented reality game for mobile devices called Minecraft Earth.

You have a little over three weeks to make sure you've downloaded all your episodes of the game before they run the risk of being gone for good. Minecraft: Story Mode support ends on June 25, 2019.

What do you think of the conclusion of Minecraft: Story Mode support? Did you like the game or do you prefer the vanilla Minecraft experience? Let us know in the comments below!
