Hervé Bonin, co-founder of Remember Me and Life Is Strange developer Dontnod Entertainment, has announced his new game via new studio Nameless XIII. Cendres: A Survival Journey is, as the name suggests, a survival adventure game coming to PC via Steam in 2021.

What is Cendres: A Survival Journey about?

Publisher Dear Villagers describes Cendres as a journey through "a harsh world without rules or judgement". The game is set 200 years after a series of geological disasters devastated the world. A group of survivors called "The Section" set out into the world to find a place to settle permanently. Cendres will center on four characters: the captain Petra, the fighter Sinh, the scholar Kali, and the scout Nadir. They'll each have to make complex moral decisions regarding not only the world around them but also each other if they want to survive. You can check out the trailer for Cendres: A Survival Journey right here:

Dear Villagers and Nameless XIII say Cendres will allow you to make "meaningful and difficult decisions" about your journey. You'll need to manage your group's resources and protect them from both the world around them and their increasingly fractured mental states. Cendres: A Survival Journey will offer 34 different endings depending on how you approach the game's moral quandaries. You'll have the chance to discover a new way to play the game each time you start a new playthrough thanks to its branching moral decisions. Bonin says the team are "huge fans of choose your own adventure books" and wanted to combine the captivating worlds found within those books with adventure gaming.

Cendres: A Survival Journey's monochrome visuals mirror its bleak post-apocalyptic world.

Cendres: A Survival Journey will launch for PC via Steam in 2021. No word yet on whether the game will come to any other platforms or digital storefronts. We'll bring you more on this game as we get it.
