Don't Starve Together: A New Reign - Part 2 has released on Steam as a free content update according to a news post on the game's Steam community page.

Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together feature quite a few nasty boss monsters and this update unleashes a new one - the Bee Queen. Finding a Gigantic Beehive and repeatedly hitting it with your hammer will release her into the world and cause her to start attacking the nearest players. She spawns 3-4 Grumble Bee minions at a time, and she can do a whopping 60 damage to the player if they're hit by her stinger.

A few new companions have been introduced. If you're out to get one, you should look for the Rock Den (often found in the Mosaic biome). It functions in a fashion similar to static crafting stations, unlocking a new menu that allows players to adopt a single non-combat pet. You can choose from a few different options, but if you want to change to a different one you'll have to abandon the first one you've picked.

Lastly, it wouldn't be an update to a survival game without some new toys for building. Don't Starve Together: A New Reign - Part 2 adds in gates and fences which can be used for aesthetics or to pen in your animals. In addition, the Marble Shrub can now be grown from Marble Beans (prototyped at the Alchemy Engine). Marble Beans require a single Marble, so this new plant makes Marble a renewable resource in the game.

That's it for the major bits of the update, but that's by no means everything. A whole bunch of bug fixes, balance tweaks, and other changes also deployed with this patch and you can view them in the Steam Community news post. If you don't yet own Don't Starve Together you can pick a single copy of this multiplayer survival game up for a 35% discount on Steam.

What do you think of the additions made in Don't Starve Together: A New Reign - Part 2? Is there anything in particular you would like to see be added to the game in the future? What's your favorite thing about Don't Starve Together or Don't Starve? Let us know in the comments below!
