Tom Clancy's The Division is celebrating its one-year anniversary, according to the Ubisoft blog. The developers have also announced some upcoming content planned for the second year of the game.
To start, current players of Tom Clancy's The Division will receive 200 Premium Credits by logging in between March 9, 2017, and March 16, 2017. Previously announced in January 2017, Premium Credits are the in-game currency used for cosmetic microtransactions. At the time of release, Ubisoft stated that there would be no in-game way to earn Premium Credits but that they were open to giving them out in certain circumstances in the future. Players who log in during this timeframe will also receive a premium celebration emote for free. Additionally, from March 9 through March 11, there will be a 2x multiplier on high-value target rewards, and on March 11, there will be a 2x multiplier on field proficiency caches. That's today, so if you want to get the most out of this anniversary event, you should try to get some game time in tonight!
As for upcoming content, the developers have stated that there are two free expansions on their way for 2017. The first (as yet unnamed) expansion will focus on an event system. These events will have activities, modifiers, leaderboards, and unique vanity items that will only be available from participating in and/or completing these events. The developers are also looking to add a "Loadout" system that will quickly allow players to swap between different sets of gear.
The developers of Tom Clancy's The Division are reluctant to give many details about the second expansion for 2017 as it's quite a ways away. They caution that story missions won't necessarily be a part of the content, but that doesn't exclude more "narrative-based" gameplay from featuring in the expansion.
This update on work-in-progress content is by no means all-inclusive; the developers state that they are focusing on delivering content right now, but they are nonetheless looking into other areas where they can improve the game. If you'd like to purchase Tom Clancy's The Division, you can grab it on PC, like at Greenman Gaming, where it is currently 20% off for $39.99 (Affiliate), or for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, like on Amazon, which has the Xbox version for $22.99 (Affiliate) or the PlayStation 4 version for $29.98.
