Divinity: Fallen Heroes has just been announced as the next game from Larian Studios. Obviously, this upcoming title is set in the Divinity universe and will show a continuation of the various races gearing up to fight a great evil. This alliance of races will be stationed aboard the airship the Lady Vengeance as they try to save the world from some decidedly nasty bad guys. The game is being co-produced by Logic Artists, a developer best known for the Expeditions series of games.

Take a look at the Divinity: Fallen Heroes Announcement Trailer to get hyped as heck for the game:

A press release has some more details about the game. Divinity: Fallen Heroes will be a tactical RPG and the game will be introducing firearms to the franchise for the very first time. Players can make use of over 30 different unit types with over 200 different skills between them. Veteran troops will also be available, but be careful—once you lose them, they're gone for good.

Oil, Fire, Water, Ice, and Poison elements will be joined by the Sulfurium element, a new facet of elemental power that affects hero positioning on the battlefield. You'll be able to command Malady for the very first time in a Divinity game. You'll also be able to make use of the Lady Vengeance in combat through devastating source powers. If you're keen to play with a friend, worry not! Divinity: Fallen Heroes will also have simultaneous co-op gameplay.

One last interesting tidbit of information from Reddit: Larian Studios registered three domain names last week:

  • Divinity Apocalypse: divinityapocalypse.com
  • Divinity Apocalypse Squad: divinityapocalypsesquad.com
  • Divinity Fallen Heroes: divinityfallenheroes.com

The third domain goes to the website for Divinity: Fallen Heroes, but the first two domains aren't yet in use at the time of writing. The trailer references "the apocalypse squad", so it seems likely that these domains are all connected to this game from what we can tell.

An early version of Divinity: Fallen Heroes will be playable at PAX East on March 28, 2019. Other than that, we don't know when the game will be coming out or what it will cost. In the meantime, you can check out the website for Divinity: Fallen Heroes.
