Dirty Bomb, Nexon’s team play focused “difficult to learn, impossible to master” free to play shooter will be receiving its Containment War update on the 28th. Containment War is being touted as the largest update Dirty Bomb has seen, including new maps, a new character, and a new game mode.

Containment War introduces Stoker, a new mercenary who can aid his team by dropping a portable ammo station. Objective and Stopwatch modes will also receive the Dome map, intended to be a very large one for playing in. For 30 days following the release of Containment War, players will be able to acquire special loadout cards exclusive to the release event.

Execution Mode will also be introduced with Containment War. This mode comes with no respawning, allowing teams to either fight over an objective or to fully eliminate the opposing team to win the round. The game is played out over several rounds, with the first team reaching 7 wins being declared the overall winner. It features two new maps with the update in Overground and Market.

And if the joy of shooting people and planting bombs is not enough to get people playing Containment War, Nexon is offering further incentives for all players to get into the game after the update. On October 28th and through November 4th, anyone who logs into Dirty Bomb will receive a free gift.

“Every single player that logs in during that time will receive one of the hardest to kill medics out there, Phoenix. He's an expert at healing everyone around him while under heavy fire with his Healing Pulse ability, and he can even revive himself when incapacitated, helping your team keep the pressure on.”

Players who have already unlocked Phoenix will instead receive an Elite Case A, Elite Case B, and an Obsidian Loadout Card for Phoenix.
