Diablo 4 leak art book cover

We may have gotten our first genuine, undeniable Diablo 4 leak. An upcoming art book has mentioned that it covers imagery from several games from the franchise — and it also happens to mention a fourth game. Something, you'll note, hasn't been released yet (much less announced).

As IGN reports, a full-page ad has popped up in German gaming magazine GameStar for a hardback book called The Art of Diablo. The description of the book (as translated by IGN) reads (in part) as follows:

Featuring over 500 artworks from Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III and Diablo IV, this book features many noteworthy artworks created for Blizzard Entertainment’s iconic action RPG.

An image of the ad has been making the rounds on Twitter; you can see it below, taken from this tweet by @Berd95:

Words of Caution on Diablo 4 Hype

Okay, so this definitely, 100% means that Diablo 4 is coming, right? Well, no.

Firstly, this book is so new that the ISBN number doesn't yet pop up in any publicly-searchable databases. One or two German stores do have a listing for it, but none of them I've found mention anything about Diablo 4 in their description.

Secondly, advertising copy — that is, the actual text used in the ad — is often checked very thoroughly, but that doesn't mean that a mistake is entirely impossible, either. "Diablo 4", in this case, could have been a placeholder for Diablo Immortal that wasn't properly swapped out before sending the advertisement off to the magazine or something like that.

That said, rumors have been flying around that we might get to see Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 at Blizzcon 2019. One way or another, we're likely to find out for sure in a few weeks.

Do you think this is a genuine Diablo 4 leak or was it simply a typo? How do you think the reveal of a new game in the franchise will be received after last year's Diablo Immortal debacle? Let us know in the comments below!
