Today Blizzard Entertainment aired a livestream about the upcoming RPG Diablo 4, during which the developers discussed a variety of topics.

First of all, we get an overview of the endgame and the World Tiers mechanics, including the increased challenge and the powerful items that you will receive by facing that challenge. Interestingly, when you get to World Tier 3, you have a chance to drop Sacred items.

Sacred items have a very wide range in the power they are bestowed, so you can get really great drops early. Interestingly, they're set at the required level at which you drop them, so you can wear them immediately. We also learn about legendary powers that can be extracted from items and applied to other items.

Unique items are very, very, rare, and start appearing when you enter the Nightmare tiers. An example provided is an item for Druids that makes the werewolf their default form.

Next, we take an extensive look at the Paragon Boards and the glyph system that lets you extensively customize your playstyle radically during the endgame.

The developer also talked about what was learned during the beta, including some of the changes made to classes and more. This time around, we learn more about the reasoning behind the changes.

Last, but certainly not least, we learn that a "Server Slam" event between May 12 and May 14. Basically, it's a new open beta open to all. All the changes made from the previous beta will be included in the build that will be tested during the Server Slam.

The purpose of the event is to test the servers as much as possible and make sure that they're ironed out so that players have a good experience on day one. Those who will participate will get another chance to acquire the rewards from the betas on top of a "Cry of Ashava" mount trophy. To get that, you'll need to reach level 20 and kill Ashava.

The team has also done a lot of work in the field of optimization for PC. More visual options will be available during the event, including DLSS 3.0 for Nvidia users.

You can check out the full livestream before.

Diablo 4 will release for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on June 6, 2023. While that's a month and a half away, the game has already gone gold.
