Blizzard has a bunch of goodies planned for Diablo fans in their upcoming patch. For starters, they're adding new pets! WoW is full of non-combat pets and it's rare that a player doesn't have at least one or two in their collection, but pets have been much less common in Diablo 3. There have only been a handful added to the game and most of those were locked behind special events. Now, Blizzard has heard the call of Sanctuary's lonely wanders are adding three new pets to the game: a disembodied hand, a small boy sporting a sword and shield, and a mini Goatman.
In addition to the pets, Blizzard is adding several new transmogrification items to Diablo 3. These common-quality items will drop off named bosses and rare chests that can be found throughout Sanctuary. Blizzard has released images of three so far, but has promised more will come when the patch drops in the coming weeks.
Blizzard has one more treat in store for those extra-diligent demon slayers among you. Patch 2.4.1 will also be adding new vanity items such as a pair of truly majestic wings or a rainbow straight out of Whimsyshire. Some of these will be harder to earn than others, but all of them will have some element of challenge.
In addition to the vanity items, Blizzard is making quite a few small tweaks to class and item balance in the 2.4.1 update. The patch will also contain the usual bug fixes as well as a few interface updates.
Perhaps most importantly for those who have been having connectivity issues, they are making several changes aimed at improving server stability. For the full list of items and balance changes coming to Diablo 3 in 2.4.1 check out the patch notes on Blizzard's website or jump into the PTR and try them out for yourself.
