Devil's Third is finally confirmed for a North American release.

The stylish action-shooter game from developer Valhalla Game Studios will be published by Nintendo for the Wii U, and shall be released in the 4th calendar quarter of 2015.

Devil's Third development is being lead by Tomonobu Itagaki, the developer behind several Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden titles. The game will be a stylish action-shooter that combines ninja-styled melee combat with a ton of guns. According to Itagaki, “Devil’s Third delivers a unique combination of shooting and melee combat to provide Wii U owners with a fresh action-oriented experience."

Devil's Third is slated to release next month in both Europe and Japan, which lead to numerous rumors about the game being passed over in North America. One rumor circulating was the game was in extremely poor quality, leading to Nintendo of America cancelling its release for the Wii U. The press release by Nintendo puts those rumors to bed.

It was also announced that Devil's Third will also receive a PC version as well. The PC version shall be released by Valhalla Game Studios as a free-to-start, multiplayer focused game. The story and single player campaign will be exclusive to the Wii U version of the game.

Devil's Third has been in development since 2008 by Itagaki, and has already received a taciturn reception. Many reviewers have criticized Devil's Third in their preview builds of the game earlier this month. Itagaki has defended the game by stating on Facebook the best way to play the game, namely using the Wii U Pro Controller and that the game depends on the skill of the player

We shall see what happens with Devil's Third when it is finally released in Europe next month.

So what do you think? Will Devil's Third be any good? Is it another shoddy game? Did you believe those rumors at all? Leave your comments below.
