Yesterday, we wrote about how Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition will have "a little something extra" for players. Now, some new details about what that might be have popped up on the game's official website: a Devil May Cry 3 Style Change System is coming.

Siliconera reports that the Style Change System is coming to Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. Here's the relevant text from the game's official website:

Will you prioritize speed or defense? Swordsmanship or gunplay? The new Style Change System allows you to experience the action through a number of unique Styles allowing for unprecedented variety. Level up the Styles and weapons as you see fit and create a playstyle all your own.

Veterans of the original will note the addition of Dante's style on the top-left of the screen. Dante has multiple different styles that he can use, each of which affects the moves that he utilizes in combat. The upcoming Devil May Cry 3 Style Change System will make it much easier to switch between them and allow you to chain even more interesting combos.

Is the Devil May Cry 3 Style Change System Our 'Little Something Extra'?

Is this upcoming Style Change System the "little something extra" that were were promised from the game's producer recently? It could be, but we can't say for certain.

It should be noted that Producer Matt Walker singled out three specific dates where we should expect to see some more news about Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition for the Nintendo Switch:

  • January 16, 2020
  • January 30, 2020
  • February 13, 2020

As it's certainly not January 16 yet, I have my doubts that the addition of this system is one of the new pieces of info we'll see on those dates. Then again, it could be that we'll see the Style Change System revealed in greater detail on January 16th (or one of the other dates), so who can say for certain.

In any case, keep your eyes open for more DMC3:SE news in the coming weeks. You'll be able to get your hands on Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition for the Nintendo Switch when it launches on February 20, 2020.

Do you like the Style Change System from Devil May Cry or do you prefer a more classic style of gameplay? What's your favorite Style? Let us know in the comments below!
