After Bungie saw that a lot of players breezed through Destiny: The Taken King's major raid 'King's Fall', the ex-Halo developer decided to implement a new mode to breathe new life into the raid. Players will now be able to do the so-called 'Challenge Mode', a weekly mode that will put a specific boss in the raid into the limelight. The bosses will also be getting new mechanics, and it's up to you and your fireteam to figure out how to overcome them.

This week's challenge is the Warpriest encounter. This encounter was already considered to be one of the hardest bosses in the raid, and with the implementation of the challenge mode, the boss will get some new-founded strength, as well as appropriate rewards to match the new difficulty. This mode is available for the normal and heroic versions of the raid. If you want to read a more comprehensive guide to what exactly the Challenge Mode entails, you can do so here.

Destiny has been having a pretty good year. Bungie's sort-of-MMO got a major 2.0 update to coincide with the release of the third expansion pack The Taken King, as well as a Legendary Edition that bundled the base game with all the available DLC into one neat package. This update brought with it a ton of quality of life changes that gives players a better sense of progression, as well as adding a ton of new story content that feels more fleshed out than what players got in the base game.

Quick Take

I'm one of those people that fell for Destiny's promotional material. I was also one of those people that quickly got bored of the endless grinding. The 2.0 update made a lot of changes to the way gear is obtained and gave us some actual story to follow. People tell me the raid is really good (I have not played it due to the torrent of great games that demanded my attention this year) and this will give people a reason to keep coming back to the raid for more.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
