What's New in Destiny 2 Update 3.0?

It's difficult to mention any one thing as the most important new feature in Destiny 2 Update 3.0 — an awful lot is changing. One of the most impactful additions is the choice players will now face between Light and Dark subclasses. New abilities will give players access to powers that Guardians have never wielded before, although they may come at a cost.

The Destiny 2 experience isn't just changing for veterans, mind — new players are also getting a fresh experience in many respects. A new introductory campaign has arrived to familiarize new players with the game. (Veterans can nonetheless participate if they feel so inclined). A ton of new tutorials are also being added to make it easier than ever to get started with Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Update 3.0 is also bringing some nice quality-of-life features to the game. Sparrows – hovercycles that serve as the game's version of a mount – will now be deployed much faster than before, saving players precious moments of unnecessary waiting around.

Of course, these are just a few of the things that are coming in this new patch — you can read the absolutely massive Destiny 2 Update 3.0 patch notes for all of the details. If you haven't yet jumped into this game, you can play Destiny 2 for free on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia via its official website,
